2030 WRG Governing Council endorses strategy refresh at Davos meeting
Reframing our narrative
Over the past decade, 2030 WRG has catalyzed innovative public-private collaboration models to reduce the water-demand supply at the national and sub-national levels. It continues to champion private sector-led innovation, expertise, and financing across multiple countries.
In recognition of the results to date, the 2030 WRG Governing Council – at its meeting in Davos in January this year – endorsed 2030 WRG’s ambition to scale up impact both regionally and globally in collaboration with the World Bank Group, World Economic Forum, client governments, and the private sector.
The Governing Council also endorsed a reframing of 2030 WRG’s work along three themes, namely: (1) Water for Food, in particular through climate-resilient irrigation; (2) Water for Environment, to address water pollution and water use for catchment protection and restoration; and (3) Water for Cities, to support resilient city-regional water systems, balancing the demand and supply of water. Each of these themes links with water security and climate action.
