Fenix Power Peru

Lima, Peru, 25 November, 2015 – At a very crowded awarding ceremony, the company Fénix Power Peru, won the “Peru 2021 Corporate Social Responsibility Award” in the category ‘water’.

The company is based in Lima and provides natural gas fired power generation services and operates as a subsidiary of AEI Services LLC. The company won the award for their million dollar investment in a desalination and water treatment plant based in the Municipality of Chilca. The plant now delivers 2,000 m3 drinking water, 24 hours daily at no cost to the 15,000 inhabitants and surrounding villages. Before the investment, access to drinking water supply was limited, and available only for 2 hours a day at irregular intervals.

This year, the organization has teamed up with 2030 WRG to issue its first water prize to further encourage best practices in sustainable development in the private sector. The collaboration also further supports partnerships with the private sector to make strategic investments in sustainable water projects.
